HARD ROCK HOTEL GOA FLAGS OFF PINKTOBER®

Breast Cancer Awareness Talk conducted by Muskaan Goa

Calangute, Goa/India October 3 , 2018 – Rolling out the brand’s 19th Annual PINKTOBER® campaign, Hard Rock Hotel Goa invited Muskaan Goa, an NGO formed by cancer survivors, to educate the staff about   the disease. Led by Dr. Sharmila Sardesai Correia, the talk was educative and inspirational. It was great to see some of the survivors speak their heart out and bring to light the pain and trauma they’ve been though while battling the deadly disease. They spoke about their experiences, shared the challenges they faced with Breast Cancer and narrated their journey of acceptance by family and friends.

According to Dr. Sharmila, a positive mind and the will to survive are key elements to fight cancer. She spoke about early detection signs and the importance of screening not only for young women but also for men. To keep the disease at bay, she advocated a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, exercise and periodic self-examination. The session was well attended by 30 band members and concluded with an interactive Q&A round.

Speaking about the property’s first breast cancer awareness talk, Vikas Sharma, Vice President Operations, Hard Rock Hotel Goa, said, “We are happy to partner with Muskaan Goa and throw light on the causes and treatment of breast cancer. There are many myths about the disease, especially in India, and everyone has a different story to tell. It’s important to find the right channel to bring hope to those who are already struggling inside the dark tunnel. We are grateful to Muskaan Goa for enlightening us on the subject and we hope to carry out many such programmes through brand campaigns like PINKTOBER® and Hard Rock Heals to help improve lives.”
